Regularly here all day here on Westminster Bridge, forcing cyclists out of the cycle lane and into a busy bus lane. All so that tourists can buy frozen vegetable fat in a cone.

As I was having abuse hurled at me by a Government Car Service driver, an Addison Lee car pulled up and parked behind!

He also said he didn't care if he got a fine as he worked for the Government Car Service, so the tax-payer would pay anyway. Nice.

His mistake though - telling me who he worked for!

So, what emergency forced this chap to block the bike lane on Baylis Rd, near Waterloo? Yup: he'd lost his way and was gawping at the map like it was Linear B or something. Don't worry, I told him where to go.

Had to explain to the chauffeur it wasn't the car I was interested in!

Fareham this evening, there is a contraflow cycle lane, with the cycle path on a shared use pavement. This allows cyclists to bypass a busy dual carriageway and roundabout.

Most people understand shared use as pedestrians and cyclists, but apparently HSWorks limited think that shared use means parking your van on the facility

Why should we be inconvenienced by such ignorant and antisocial behaviour?

I should also add, there was a driver and passenger in the front, plus two people riding in the back of the van - not sure that's legal either.

As if one car blocking the lane waiting for a takeaway wasn't enough, well, as I'm taking the picture, along comes another. Blimey, this place must be good. Spring Orchid, it's called, if you're interested. Amazingly enough, this one's number plate is appropriate too.

Car stopped to pick up a takeaway, blocking the bike lane in Baylis Rd, just up from Waterloo station. They must have been waiting for the beansprouts to grow because they were in there ages. Actually the number plate wasn't what it says here. It was a vanity, look-at-me-aren't-I-clever plate, though. But it should have been what it says here.

"Abandoned" van parked just as the road narrows forcing cyclists to join single lane traffic.

Didn't catch the reg but was dissapointed to see someone that might one day save one of us parked in the advance cycle lane at the traffic lights at St Pauls in London.

Whether this driver thinks his van is a bicycle or not is really irrelevant. The big cycle painted on the path directly in front of the vehicle is a clue for the thickest driver.

There are 11 empty parking spaces within a few feet of this appalling parking, one has to wonder why the driver appears incapable of using these.... he bizarrely has to walk further to make the delivery than if he had parked properly!

Every single day this lane is used by people parking up while they use the cashpoint machine or the corner shop just up the road. Mind-numbingly stupid planning for a busy road - and look at the width of the cycle lane!

I'm not sure who is more to blame here; the planners who blithely assumed that parking lines are obeyed, or the residents who park over the cycle lane.
What I particularly enjoy with this cycle lane, is how street view shows how it should work:

Vehicles using the level crossing kept carefully apart from cycles travelling in the opposite direction (god help you on a bike travelling with the traffic though).

Notice however that when residents park badly over the cycle lane, that the "residents only" barrier blocked pavement means that the initial piece of cycle lane is used as a convenient pedestrian walkway, and due to the well-placed traffic island and kerb, cyclists have to play chicken with oncoming traffic.

This is before mentioning that the likely traffic using the access road just before the level crossing on this side are Asda delivery vans and artics. Meet one of those at the wrong time....

This illegal parking is a daily occurrence, yet Hampshire Police refuse to deal with it as it is "a parking offence" and down to the Council. Meanwhile the Council state it is obstruction and down to the Police.

So the cycle (bad pun) continues with the path being unusable and no-one can be bothered to deal with it!

This selfish git parked here to dig a hole in the road, completely blocking the NCR1 Dover to Shetland Cycle Route at the Junction of Newell Street with the Commercial Road in the east end of London.

Terrible piece of parking here in on the Apollo 15 mission in 1971. Even though there is plenty of space available here in Mare Imbrium, the driver David Scott has chosen to park right across a lane, forcing cyclists into a difficult detour round Hadley Rille.

On Westminster bridge, there every day. Buses squeezing past in the bus lane blocking way of cyclists.
